Although we had started last fall selling off many of the antique vehicles Richard owned there was still a lifetime of tools and machines to clear out. It was a lot of work first to get the house cleared out enough for the real estate pictures. And then three weeks after it went on the market we had an offer and a closing date. What to take with us became the challenge and what to do with the things we did not want to take. Facebook marketplace, auction house, friends and neighbors and so many trips to Savers and we finally pared down our possessions that filled three buildings into a moving truck headed to our Florida home of 1600 square feet! I will miss the clean air, the change of seasons, the cold clean well water, the warm floors from the radiant heat, my custom kitchen and screened in porch. I won't miss all the work to maintain the gardens and yard, the snow, the cold, the cloudy damp days, the walk outside to get to the garage, the long drive to everywhere and the traffic to get across the river. So goodbye Merritt Valley house. You have provided for many families for the last 300+ years and I hope the new family will come to love you as much as we loved you
